I acquired this tape a handful of years ago from a good friend that was originally from VA. With zero information about it on the internet, I did some asking around, and got the most solid info about it out of Nate Newton:
It's a demo they recorded before the Lost In Sabbath EP. The first recording with Christian on drums, Rod and Gary on guitar, and Carl (RIP) on bass. Basically a totally new lineup from the Integrity split and Underdark EP. It was recorded at Wintersound in Gloucester, VA by Bob Gurske.

As usual, it's up on youtube as well

With the recent passing of Isaac Golub, I thought it was time to dust off some audio equipment, and this blog, to digitize the Amendment Eighteen demo.

Here's a rare track that Brotherhood wrote and were playing live prior to breaking up. Never recorded in a proper studio, this live version comes from the This Is My World compilation cassette on Excursion Records.

I doubt I need to pen an introduction for the WNYU radio show, Crucial Chaos. It's influence and lore is legendary. It blessed us all with many great live on-air performances, and the following from the great No Escape is one of them.

Kingpin was a Massachusetts-based band active from 1990 to 1993 that took cues from NYHC, Melodic Hardcore like Verbal Assault, and Metal riffs to create an early incarnation of the "New School" style popularized by many bands throughout the duration of the era. In addition to a 7" titled Holding Tomorrow released on Suburban Voice records, the band also recorded 4 songs that were never released prior to the bands breakup, and have been floating around on the internet ripped from cassette tapes. Now, these songs have finally been remastered and packaged for a proper press on vinyl via Atomic Action records. The songs can be streamed here through the label's bandcamp, and the 7" can be ordered through their webstore.

They originally went by the name of Taken Breath, which you can see is crossed out in a few locations on the lyric insert.

Jason Welsher (To Die For)
Josh Welsher (To Die For)
Zach Phelps (Wrench, 18v, Cedargate Records)
Scott Danough (Bleeding Through)

When Mean Season returned home form a European tour in 1994, they entered a studio to record one track. It's purpose was to serve as a preview for the vocal style that Aaron would be using on the upcoming 'Grace' LP. What followed with Grace was one of the finer and more unique sounding LPs of 90s hardcore, and with this one track, you can hear a bit of its evolution.

Mean Season will also be playing the upcoming New Age Fest in Garden Grove, CA to celebrate the label's 30th anniversary.
