At the end of August, Clear and Triphammer will both be reuniting in Salt Lake City.

The two bands toured together in 1998, and you can see video from Clear's set in Portland here.  Sometime this month, I'll convert the Triphammer set from the same show, and their demo tape.

If anyone is going, and would like to pick up shirts for me (assuming either band has them), please hit me up through my email on the contact page.

Spread The Disease (STD) was an Canadian band and side project of Dave from New Day Rising. They made a name for themselves here in the states and in Canada by playing unrelenting metal and violent shows. They only put out 2 full lengths on Eulogy and a 7" in their short career before they broke up in 1999. Here's a link to their first full length: We Bleed From Many Wounds

As was recently requested, here are full scans of the Disembodied - Existence In Suicide CDEP that came out on Furface Records in 1995.  The original post still contains working download links for anyone that missed it five years ago.  Of course, the songs were later remixed and remastered for the Psalms Of Sheol release on Prime Directive Records in 2010.

I've spent way too much time going through my old cd's today, but luckily for you, that means a lot of downloads will be posted in the future. Definitely Not The Majors came out in 1997 from Bush League Records and is chalked full of great tracks. Any comp that starts off with Bloodlet and Coalesce is a winner in my book. This link was posted back in 2008, but for those of you that missed it, here it is again: Definitely Not The Majors: Click here for download

One of the greats...INSTED. Only around from 1986-1991, but they made a huge impact on the scene and their legacy still lives on to this day...

I updated the Krakatoa entry to have a link for the 2 songs from their 7" Clouds Burned By Sunshine. If there's any issues, please let us know. Thanks.

*We cannot upload the Krakatoa CD because you can still purchase it from Second Nature Recordings. - Chip

One of my all time favorite 7"'s is Krakatoa: Clouds Burned By Sunshine. If you're not familiar, Krakatoa was a short lived band from 1992-1995 with Dave Walker from Harvest and Carl Skildum from Threadbare. Here's a little back ground info listed on the insert from the 7":

Into Another announced yesterday that they will be putting out a new album and touring in the near future.... Revelation Records posted this picture today so I'll take that as confirmation that they will be putting out the album. Rev put out their first album in 1991 and their second album in 94 but their last record, Seemless, was on Hollywood Records in 95. Into Another were one of the headlining bands last year at the Revelation Records 25th anniversary shows. Hopefully the new album won't disappoint the die hard fans out there. Fingers crossed.

Someone asked me to re-up the Slugfest CD but after going back and searching, I couldn't find the original post. I figured this was just easier so here we are. I did an interview with Scott Vogel, vocalist for the band, and all we talked about was Slugfest. If you'd like to go back and get some info on the band, you can do so by click below:

Interview with Scott Vogel about Slugfest and Fadeaway

The band was only around for a short time, recording a demo and a 7 inch (titled "Buried Alive") before breaking up in 1993 (if I remember correctly). Scott joined Fadeaway and then Despair. During his time in Despair, the band got back together and recorded 4 songs that they had written before they broke up initially.

I can't remember if this was initially advertised as a discography of sorts but it's definitely incomplete. It's missing the demo and the after-the-fact live 7 inch from the reunion show in 1997. I never did quite understand the cover of the record...either way, this was released by Initial Records in 1996 when Despair was releasing material with them. Reaper Records was supposed to release a complete discography but I think that idea has been scrapped unfortunately.

I went back and re-ripped the original CD as a VBR so it's nice and loud and I also scanned the ENTIRE layout (tray card and CD included) and included those in the download. The lyrics are printed across a 3 panel insert so it may be a little difficult to follow along but you get those as well. If this is your first time hearing Slugfest, don't expect Terror but more a (mostly) slowed down, chug heavy record of pissed off hardcore featuring members of Snapcase, Terror, Buried Alive, Despair and a slew of other Buffalo bands.

The Dillinger Escape Plan has been murdering my ears since they formed in 1997, and I still can't get enough. Their new album One Of Us Is The Killer is far from disappointing. In fact, I've had it on constant rotation since it's release and I'm pretty obsessed. They have stayed true to their sound and are still crazy as fuck when they perform. I don't think this band will ever lose it's steam. Here's some footage from their recent tour promoting One Of Us Is The Killer.

This is the version of vinyl package I received when I pre-ordered the album. I couldn't be more pleased with the quality and presentation. I'm stoked that bands like this still exist.

Looks like Old Man Gloom has a new album in the works and they need some money to help put it out. I don't know about you, but I'm totally willing to shell out $15 and some change to help make that happen. They posted a link today with several shirt designs from various tours and a limited edition Thomas Hooper poster that up for grabs at www.shirtsanddestroy.com. OMG last toured February of this year with Converge as the headlining act. Kurt Ballou, Converge guitarist and well known producer, will be putting out the album. Being that I'm a huge fan of theirs, and all of the members other bands, I can't wait to see what they have in store. Here's a few items they have for sale, check out the rest HERE.

I wanted to say thank you to the fellas at Stuck In The Past for inviting me to be a part of their webzine. We originally connected via Instagram (vinylxdenim) where I showcase my continuous love for 90's hardcore music and culture. I am forever grateful that I was around in those days to see the bands that I saw and just be a part of a movement that was so profound. Connecting with people who can relate to those experiences is such an awesome feeling. I'm excited to have another outlet to share my love for the hardcore scene, 90's bands, fliers, photos, vinyl, and whatever else music related. I hope you enjoy what I have to share. -Shawna

When I was uploaded the Voice Of The Voiceless, someone (might have been Guav) mentioned Rob R Rock. I realized I had intended on uploading this a while back but never got around to it so here we are. Honestly, it's really not that bad...sounds like hip hop of the era (late 80's, early 90's). I found this little tidbit of info from Rob himself on the Livewire board:

"For what its worth, that track "Cruelty Free" was kind of slapped together during a recording session DJ Evercool and I did at that time. The rest of the session is much tighter and serious lyrically. It came out as the HARDCORE REALITY "straight up" 12" on a German label, Brain Police. (It also has the SxE counterpart to "Cruelty Free"... "Poison Free")."

Not sure of the year but maybe 1991 or somewhere in that range. I honestly don't know if there was an actual cover for the 12 inch or if this sticker you see above was the only thing so if anyone knows, let us know.

I hope you guys enjoy it.

Hey guys,

Sorry for my lack of input lately but up until recently I had been working 3 jobs so my time was limited for anything. But I did go and see that a few of you had requested to have a few links fixed. I did get to some of them and they have been updated. See below:

Despair - As We Bleed

Inside - 2010 Demo

Wrench - Both Records

Voice Of The Voiceless compilation

Click any of the links to be taken directly to the post. If you guys have anymore requests for links that are down, shoot me an email at xchipxsem@gmail.com and I'll get them fixed. I'm also going to try and get more of the layouts scanned with the post.

More exciting news for us, we'd like to welcome to our friends Shawna to the group. She'll be helping us out as a regular contributor and we're happy to have her on board.

Lastly, keep those requests coming. If we don't have it, we'll do our best to try and track it down. Thanks for sticking with us for all these years.

Extinction was a straight edge band from Chicago, active in the mid-to-late 90s. The band had two releases, one being this four song EP and the other being Hypocrisy Breeds Traitors. Both were released on Catalyst Records and are long out of print. I wanted to share the layout of What You Have Created (otherwise known as the Enemy of the People 7"), particularly due to the meaning behind each song that was included in the insert.

"What You Have Created..." (1997)

Track List:
1) Ignominy
2) Replica
3) 220
4) Enemy of the People
